Chelmsford shares showed a further advance in price, sales being made at :->/3 and !!/(>. with no sellers quoted under 3/S, and buyers left at ;i/'-. Waihi Exteudeds were not quite so firm to-day, being sold at 4/9, with 4/15 the buying ((notation. Waihi South- changed hands at L/o and 1/4. Enquiries were also made. for Waihi shares, but at ,11 10/, while holders asked £12 12/. Other mining stocks were practically unaltered. In standard lines £45 was still offered for Hank of New South Wales shares. Insurance and shipping' shares had good enquiry, but gas aud coal were neglected.
