RETURNING TROOPERS.
MELBOURNE, January 17.
The Damascus has arrived with 4invalided soldiers for Australia, under Major Madocks. of New Zealand. MELBOURNE, this day. Lieutenant Walker and Troopers Orange and Scott, New Zealanders, are aboard the Damascus. WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr. Ward received a cable from Mr. Seddon. who is now at Brisbane, stating that the New Zealand Contingent received a great reception on the Orient yesterday. The steamer sailed again at noon to-day. ' DUNEDIN, Thursday. The Reception Committee are making arrangements for a reception to the returning troopers. The occasi-^ promises to be one of great heartiness. ,
