WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: Gale from between north-east and south-east at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo anu Raglan, extending on the eastern coast after 20 hours to Gisborne and Napier; moderate easterly winds all other places.
Barometer: Fall everywhere.
Sea: Heavy on east coast north of East Cape, heavy easterly swell thence to Cape Pailiser, moderate on western coast.
Tides very high on east coast northward of East Cape, good theme to Castlepoint, moderate thence southwards and on western coast/
Rain will be heavy in_ all places northward of East Cape. Taupo and Raglan, and may be expected after 1G hours on the east coast southward to Napier.
Warnings signals for easterly gales exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen and Tiri.
Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly falling barometer northward of Lyttelton •and Hokitika, but there has been a slight increase of pressure in tbe South. Strongeasterly winds have been experienced northward of Thames and Manukau, with showery and gloomy weather. Low pressure about north from the North Cape about 180 miles distance, travelling S.E. by E., was further N.W. yesterday. bow pressure from west will pass east of the meridian of South Cape on the 21st.
