THE SUNBEAM,
The 30-footer Sunbeam, built by Messrs Logan Bros., to the order of Mr- A. T. Pittar, was launched on Saturday afternoon, and afterwards went for. a spin round the ftarbour. The new boat is a pure racing machine, -everything having been sacrificed to lightness and speed. She isdiagonally built of kauri, the deck fittings being of teak. The hull is very shallow, the necessary stiffness being obtained by means of a bulb fin. In the water the yacht presents a very smart appearance, and in tl*e' light northerly breeze on Saturday she got along at a good rate of speed. The Sunbeam will be shipped to Sydney by the Zealandia next -week. Mr Archie Logan accompanies her across and will probably sail her in the international race.
