Private P. McCarthy, Coromandel: An old Auckland volunteer. Has many times competed at the New Zealand meetings, has also been twice to Sydney and Mel-' bourne, and has well earned his place as one of the best shots 5n Auckland.

..Private M. Tobin, Victoria Rifles: One of the 'best' known shots in the district, and winner of many trophies, such as Hancock's prize of 20 guineas and Clark's belt. Has always done well at the New Zealand meetings; has also represented Auckland at Sydney.

Colour-sergeant Gatland, Coromandel: The baby shot of the teajn, but a thoroughly good man. Did. very r well. at^the.last Auckland rifle meeting, and also tit .M$ company's shooting.
