]>runkenness.—For this offence one first offender was convicted and discharged, while another who did not appear was fined-10/. James Paul was lined 20/ or seven days, while Frank William Hill was fined 10/ and costs, of 48 hours' in default.
Remanded.—Frank William Hill, charged with having received £15/ from" Thomas Sinclair on terms requiring him to account for the same to A. Woolams, Auckland, he having failed to account for the same, was remanded until Monday next on the application of the police. George William Smith, alias James Anderson, charged with having on the 9th of November, at Devonpiort, indecently assaulted a giri under the age of twelve years, was also remanded. John Burg, charged with being an idle and disorderly person without 'lawful means of support, Avas remanded till Monday. Mr McGregor, who appeared for the accused, opposed the remand, but eventually agreed to accept it. The case against Eebecca Sinclair, charged with being the owner lof a dangerous dog. was also remanded. The Franklin Eoad Tragedy.—James Miller charged with the murder of Herbert Edward Georg-e Piper, was further remanded until Monday next) on the application of the police.

Juvenile Offenders. —William Lindsay, alias William .lohnson, and John McGregor, alias John Stafford, two boys ot! 13 and 13 years respectively j were charged with stealing one packet of tobacco the property of iVellie Clyde. The boys pleaded not g-uilty, and on the application of the police were renuinded until Saturday morning.
Remanded.—George Harris, charged with attempting to steal from the person, was on the application of Mr Baxter remanded until Monday.
