A correspondent, "H. B. Schmid writes against the opening of greeng cers and other small shops and the rt ning- of trams and 'buses on Christi Day.
"R..8." complains of the arrangeme made in connection with the excurs run by the Northern Company to Coy Waiheke, on Boxing Day. He consii that had there been one ticket, and special tickets necessitating excursion returning by the steamer they went dc by, much discomfort and risk would hi been obviated. He also complains of announcement tea and hot water p vided being but very inadequately i filled. <« ' ' ■ :
"Shareholder" wishes to know ■whet' the stone obtained by directors wl visiting the mines eventually benefits shareholders or 'whether it is retained the directors themselves!
