At the Thames Police Court yester-! day James Thomas, alias Bray, was committed for trial on a charge of forging and uttering- an order on Frederick Tetley for 15/, purporting to be signed by John McLoughlin of Matatoke. Accused.was allowed bail, himself in £50 and two sureties of £50 each. A very sudden death occurred this morning at Karaka Creek, Mrs Julia Percy being taken suddenly ill, and almost at once expiring. Decked, who was well known in Auckland, was only :i8 years of age, and leaves a'family of five, the youngest only ten months of age. Dr. Lapraik expressing readiness to certify that the cause of death was heart disease, the coroner decided an inquest.was unnecessary. Harold liayldon. son of Mr D. H. Bayldon, and nephew of Capt. Bayldoti of Thames, well known in Auckland and Thames, has been appointed manager of the Matabele Proprietory Mines Limited in Khodesia, South
