De Wet, after he was oiitflanked by General Pilcher, crossed the Kareeport Drift, on the Caledon River, on the sth, making in the direction of Odendal, where the Guards hold the drift The river is now in flood.
General Knox, with a portion of his force, is pursuing De Wet. The remainder of General Knox's men have crossed the river at $}.thuli^ -1.
LONDON, December ft.
Released prisoners from De Wetsdorp, with the exception of the officers, abandoned a Krupp gun near the south bahkof the Caledon River.
De Wet's force is laagered close to Aliwal North.
