WELLINGTON, this day
Wind: Moderate to strong from between north-west and south-west at all places north of Thames, Cambridge and New Plymouth, strong- from between southeast and north-east in all other parts oi the North Island; strong to gale from between north-east and south-oast in the northern half of the South Island* and moderate from south-west and south and south-east elsewhere.
Barometer: Fall everywhere. Sea: Heavy on Western Coast south of Raglan, heavy*on East Coast between East Cape and heavy swell thence southwagl, moderate northward Of East Ca^pe. Tides: Good on both coasts. Rain is probable in all parts of the country. Warning- signals for easterly gales are exhibited at Capes Campbell, Foulwind, and Farewell Spit. Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Slowly decreasing pressure everywhere, with gloomy weather and moderate winds. The low pressure to the eastward of East Cape has moved to the south-east. Low pressure from the north-west is about 180 miles to the'N.W. of Cape Farewell, but is decreasing in energy. Low pressure from west will pass eastward of the meridian of South Cape on the 11th.
