The following are results of the more important art unions: Initial quilt, won by Miss Buckland: piano drape. Miss Foy: mantel drape. Monsignor O'Reilly: Mount Mellick and drawn thread quilt, Mrs H. L, Wright; bannerette. Mr Oautley. LAND TRANSFER. The Harbour Board has signed a deed making- over to the Borough Council the strip of reclamation ground now leased by Rickit and Co. The conditions are that the borough takes possession on the first of April next, undertaking to remove the building- standing on the ground to any part of the foreshore sections chosen by the Board, also paying- twentypounds to the Board. THE HOSPITAL. The number of patients in the Thames Hospital at the end of the month was— males 23, females 5. Three deaths occurred during the month, two from cancer, one from pneumonia. Mr T. Radford has retired from the Board of Trustees of the Thames Hospital after 16 years' hard work, and in takingr leave of him the Board passed a unanimous vote of thanks for the untiring and thorough way in which he carried out his duties during that lengthy period. The secretary of the Hospital Board (Mr T. Cautley) estimates that the net proceeds of the recent bazaar would reach £450, which sum will be supplemented by the Government subsidy of 24/ in the pound.
