NEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday
At a meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association to-night the sub-com-mittee appointed to investigate the Auckland Club's balance-sheet reported that some of the Club's debtors were holders of Association licenses. It was decided to withdraw these licenses until the holders had paid the moneys due by them to the club. The explanation by the Auckland Club of the circumstances which had induced the Association to withdraw from the club power to issue licenses was accepted as satisfactory, and the club was empowered to grant interim licenses as heretofore. A letter was received from the Tahuna Park Trotting Club explaining the position in regard to the rent paid by it for the ground to the Tahuna Recreation Company. The president stated that a letter had been sent under date November 30, asking the club for information as to how many shareholders in the company were members of the trotting club, but so far no reply had been received. It was decided to give the club a few days more for a reply, and in the event of It not sending the required information that the Association should obtain information on its own account. The matter will be dealt with at a meeting next Wednesday, when the disqualification of the horse Cowboy by the Gore Trotting Club will also be under discussion. The appeal of the owner of the second horse against the stakes in the handicap at Tahuna Park being' awarded to Farewell 11., on the ground that the winner's performances had not been given correctly, was dismissed.
