Mr. Tennant, Mining Inspector for Westland, reports that he and Mr. Scott, manager of the Blackball mine, are of opinion that it will be possible* to resume work in the portion of the mine now being flooded in about two months.
A case before the Supreme Court today is that of Sydney Bluett, of Palliation, charged with having impropea relations with a girl under sixteen.
A union of hotel cooks, waiters and pantrymen, etc., has been formed in Wellington, and already numbers 70 members.
