CHINESE AND BOEE PICTURES.

There are numbers of interesting Chinese and Boer pictures in the current issue of the "Graphic." The latter are from photographs taken chiefly in the Boer camps, and afford an inslgnt into the life led by the enemy during the campaign. Pursuing the scheme announced before of illustrating our Auckland churches in the "Graphic" pages, there is published in this issue a series of views of the Wesleyau Church of St. John's, Ponsonby, and those connected with it, and a similar series dealing with the Church of the Sacred Heart, Pon&'onbj r. Footballers will be interested in the magnificent plates of the Wellington and Otago teams now touring the colony. These pictures are beautifully clear reproductions, and very suitable for framing as mementoes of the present football season and interprovmcial matches. The continuation of the street er.apshots will afford entertainment. Some excellent likenesses have been ebtairied this week of prominent (Bity men. These are only some of the pictorial features of the issue, which is full of miscellaneous pictures. In the letterpress department there is a treat for fiction readers. The issue contains the opening chapters of Wiliam Le Queux's latest novel, "In White Kaiment," a tale of thrilling interest from the first chapter onward. Headers should not miss the commencement of this tale, certainly one 9f the best that has yet been published in the colony. Special reference should also be made to the musical columns of the "Graphic," which are far before anything of the kind appearing in other journals, of the colony. The ladies' and children's pages are also distinctive features of the publication. Both cater for their respective readers in the fullest and most up-to-date fashion. The ladies' pages contain the latest London and colonial fashions, work hints, and all the social gossip, .■while the young folks will find hours of amusement in the part of the paper specially set apart for them. Topics, • current comment, serial and fihiort stories, racing, golf, football notes, and a mass of -miscellaneous reading go to make up a very attractive number., ; -
