Wind: bale from between south and south-east and east on the East Coast be--tween Knikonra nnd East Cape; moderate from between west and south-west and south north of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglau. and moderate to strong south to east und north-east winds elsewhere. Barometer: Further rise everywhere. Tides: High on East Coast north of Kallroura and between Raglan and Manukau on the West Coast; moderate everywhere else, and decreasing. Rain Is probable in the North Island eastward of Taurauga, Taupo, and CastleP°Fro«t is to be expected in the South Island and in parts of the North Island southward of Napier and New Plymouth; very cold elsewhere. * ,„ Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Steadily Increasing pressure everywhere, with much colder* weather generally. Strong westerly winds have been prevalent northward of Thames and Manukau, and from thenoe southward strong south to south-east winds. High pressure from west is passing cant of the meridian of South Cape, and low pressure has crossed the North Island, travelling to the north-east.
