WEATHER REPORT.

WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: .Gale from between north-west and west and south-west at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan, strong east to south and south-west winds thenc# southward to Kaikoura and Hokitika, and strong north to west and south-west winds elsewhere.
Barometer: Further rise northward of East Cape, Taupo and Manukau, fall everywhere else, but rising after from 12 to 20 hours.
Sea: Heavy on West Coast north of Cape Egmont, considerable thence southward, heavy southerly swell son East Coast between Kaikoura and East Cape.
Tides: High on West Coast north of Cape Egmont. good from thence southward and on all Eastern Coast.
Rain is probable in most parts of the country.
Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria.
Synopsis of the last 48 hours: Pressure continued to decrease in Northern districts until about 5 p.m. on .Saturday; since then it has risen slowly, but from Napier and New Plymouth southward there has been a slight increase since about midnight of Saturday.
Low pressure from west is approaching the South Cape, and will probably pass eastward of it late to-night.
Moderate southerly winds have been prevalent, and there has been much rain in the North Island.
