ORGAN RECITAL.
The first of a series of organ recitals, in aid of the fund for providing a mechanical blower for the organ, was held last evening in St. Sepulchre's Church. The building was crowded to the door, while many were unable to obtain admission. Eight solos were rendered by Mr A. Towsey. The programme was opened by Batiste's "OfPertoire in F Major," and the fantasia "The Storm," by the same composer, was also given. This was perhaps the most enjoyable item of the evening. Handel's "Grand Organ Concerto" and a selection from Water Music were both played in a masterly manner. Mendelssohn's "Andante from Violin Concerto in E Minor" was an excellent item, as was Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor." During- the evening Mr W. J. Cousins sang "The Light of the World" (Adams) very tastefully, and Mr C. Kissling sang "The Great Master" (Barri). The choir rendered two hymns and the. anthem, "0, Clap Your Hands."
