WELLINGTON, this day.
Wind: Strong, southerly on the lOast Coast between Kaikoura anil Hast. Cape: moderate tmd generally from southward elsewhere.
Barometer: Very little movement northward of Tnurunga and Kaglan; further rise at all other places.
• Sea: .Moderate on sill Western Coast; heavy swell from southward on the Hast Coast between Kuikouru and East (.'ape.
Tides: Moderate on Western (.'oust, and good on Hast Coast .southward of East Cape, moderate elsewhere. Haiu: Probable in all parts of the South ;sluud, ami in the North Island southward frotn the ManuUau and Tuuranga to Wanga•itii, and much wilder weather at all other parts of the country.
Synopsis of the last 24 hours: Very little ihauge of pressure northwards of Kulkouru and Hokitika, l>ut it decreased nearly threetenths in the South by 8 p.m., and since then has arisen again nearly five-tenths. Strong gales from westward have, been experienced south of Wanganui and Castlepoint, and moderate westerly winds elsewhere. Rain has fallen heavily in Otago and on Kast Coast between Oninnru and Cape Campbell, and snow at Xaaeby. Low pressure from The west passed eastward c>f the meridian of South Cape about 10 p.m. yesterday.
