ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. MARIPOSA WITH THE ENGLISH MAIL (VIA SAN FRANCISCO).
9 — The inward 'Frisco mail steamer Mariposa arrived from San Francisco and way ports at 2.30 p.m. to-day, after a passage of 18 days 20 hours 21 minutes, during which beautiful weather was experienced. The vessel had but 17 passengers all told, the small list being due to the fear of the plague at Sydney. Among the list for Sydney is Mr Peter Jackson, the well-known pugilist. The Mariposa's mails bear London date of March 10, New York < March 17, San Francisco March 21, Honolulu March 28, and Apia April 6.
