THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL VACANCY.
A poll was taken yesterday at the Registrar's office, University College, Buildings, for the election of a graduate's member to fill the vacancy on the Auckland College Council caused by the resignation of Mr C. T. Major. Altogether 51! votes were recorded, and the poll resulted as follows:— 0. BiggWither. 8.A., 15 votes; T. U. Wells, M.A. 32 votes: R. H. Bakewell, M.D., i vote. Mr T. U. Wells is therefore elected.
