Drunkenness.—For this offence Robert John Galbraith was sentenced tc 14 days' hard labour. Charles' Dun* don and Patrick Murphy' were each fined 5/ or 24 hours hard labour; andi Kate MeMantis 10/ -br 48 hours. Edward Ryan was fined 10/ ox- 48 hours for drunkenness, and sentenced to!?' days hard labour for using obscene language. Victor Oliver was fined 5/ or 24 hours for drunkenness, and 40/ and costs. 6/, or 7 days, for assaulting Herbert Taylor by striking him on the head with his clenched fist. A firstoffending "drunk" was fined 5/ br 24 hours. - '■ A
Theft.—Annie Fraser was. convicted on a charge- of stealing a gold bangle, value 35/, the property of Elsie Stevens, and was remanded till to-morrovv to enable enquiries as to her character to be made by the probation officer. _>■ Begging.— George Heighway was convicted and sentenced to a month' 3 hard labour for begging alms in a public place. . Dismissed.-—, The . charge against James Guy Little, charged with stealing a sheep at Waikumete, the property of Philip Wonton, was dismissed on the evidence, and the accused discharged. This case was heard yesterday afternoon. - .; ■
