AMUSING MATRIMONIAL ADVERTISEMENTS.
The "Register," a sprightly little paper, published in Minnesota, devotes itself with perhaps too much enterprise to the joyful mission of promoting everlasting1 love and happiness. In other words, it. is a quite up-to-date matrimonial gazette, and its Cupid's columns contain some peculiarly chic readings- Here is one specimen of advertisement which should really melt the heart of the most confirmed old bach-elor:—Blue-eyed, brown-haired blonde, small in stature, age 23, possesses a dainty, graceful form and sufficient beauty to attract the wise man who is not seeking a useless toy but a true, pure woman whose sweet face Is the reflection of her soul. She is not a "new woman," but an oldfashioned one whose highest ambition is to (ill with dignity, patience, and loyalty woman's true mission, that of wife and mother. AVon't you tempt Fate, some ambitious, honourable, manly man, by replying to this? You may draw a prize in life's lottery.
