Aii inquest was held at the Avondale Hotel to-day before Mr J. Bollard, Coroner, Mvto the circumstances surrounding- the death of Lewis Clarence White who was drowned at Kurekavc Bay on Monday last. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death, and added a rider that great praise was due to Mr White, for his plucky attempt to save liis sou's life. Constable Crcan represented the police.

Inspector Cilllen received a telegram to-day from Constable Cordon of Darg-aville stating that the body of Alec. Whiskers, who was missed some little time back off a vessel trading to the Kaipara, had been found some six miles up the Wairoa. The body had been identified, and Constable Gordon was leaving- to recover it.
