The extraordinary' cordiality of Lord Roberts' reception is attributed to that the Free State burghers feel to the relief that the Free State burghers feel at deliverance from the Transvaalers violence. Prior to the flight of President Steyn a mass meeting of burghers accused him of cowardice in selling Ills country. It was decided to discontinue the war. SYDNEY, this day. Letters received from prisoners in Bloemfontein show that they have been well treated.
