The Hawke's Bay section of the Fourth Contingent o£ llough Riders for South Africa were given a magnificent send off to-day, equalling in every possible manner the demonstration witnessed on the Conner occasion, when 45 men were sent from here. The feature of the demonstration was the cavalcade of 300 Maori horsemen, who were splendidly mounted, and gave excellent etfect to the general procession. The contingent embarked by special train at five p.m. for Wellington amidst great cheering.
