j Police Inspector Broham, of Christ- ' church, retires on the 28th under the Police Pension Act. Inspector Broham has been 36 years in the service, and : receives an allowance of £240 per ; annum. i Inspector Ellison, of Greymouth,- ---| formerly at Auckland, succeeds In-, i spector Broham.

Mrs Brabant, wife of Mr H. S. Brabant, of Devonport, died at her residence on March 6. The deceased lady, who was fifty years of age, was a' ; native of Raglan, and lived for many years at Tauranga. She had been residing at Devonport for the last two years. The funeral took place this afternoon at O'Neill's Point Cemetery.
