Hugh :I }rice Hughes.—Dr. May. ley referred to.the possibility of a visit from the Rev: il. P: Hughes, of London, 'who had expressed his willing. . hess to visit Australasia. Dr. Morley ihoved, and it was carried, "That the hearty invitation of the Conference be extended to the Rev. Hughes, and-, that, the Conference do all in its power to' raise the necessary funds to defray the cost of the tour." The President,' Dr. Morley, and Messrs Blackwell and T. Coverdale were appointed a committee to arrange details of the visit.' Home Mission Appointments.—The following is the list of Home Mission appointments in the Auckland dts^; trict: Bay of Islands, vacant; Hoki- > anga, G-. Pearson; Whangaroa and Wade, (i. Bridgeware; Kuaotuntl, C. H: Poole; Kaihn, A. J. Reed; Huntly, G. : Cook? Franklin, J. Richards; Helensville, W Grantham. The Missionaries at present engaged ati Bay of . Islands, Kuaotunu, and Little River are not to leave ' their stations until their successors are appointed. 'TheVMe|Mr D. L. Moody.—The Rev. J. T. Pinfold moved, and Rev. E. Best seconded, and it was carried unanimously:— "The Conference, having' been1 reminded of-the death of. Mi" Dwight -Lyman Moody during the past year desires to place on record its appreciation of his noble life of .'self-sacrifice, arid the signal way in which God blessed his evangelistic '■ efforts to the salvation of souls.' It recognises the great ■ loss that the Christian Church universal* -j has sustained, and prays that the, > Great Head of the Church will sanctify this dispensation of His Providence to all'-woVkers in the ChrisDtian yineyard."
