NEW SERIAL.
TO OUR READERS.
We have great pleasure in announcing' that in the "STAR" columns on
MONDAY NEXT
will appear the First Instalment of a Thrilling New Serial entitled, The Sword of a Gascon. It is an Historical Romance by Amedee Achard, and while it necessarily loses something in the translation', the English version is tersely and vigorously written. All lovers of a capital historical romance after the style of "The Three Musketeers," by the elder Dumas, will derive from the perusal of our new Serial a vast amount of pleasure. The plot of. "The , Sword of a Gascon" runs, its course during the reign of Louis XIV., perhaps the most romantic period of French history. The chapters teem with "deeds of derringdo" and Court, intrigues, and the career of the gallant hero, the young Duke de Chargepaul, is a fitting counterpart to Dnmas' D'Artagan.
Look out for the opening Chapters of "THE SWORD OF A GASCOxX,"
commencing in the "Star" on
MONDAY NEXT.
