Wind: Gale from the northward in the North Island, and strong S.W. winds in the South Islund, during the nsxt 12 hours, then changing to 'a gale from N.W. to north. Barometer: Further fall at all pieces northward of Blenheim and Westport, rise from thence southward, but falling again after 12 hours. Sea:-Heavy on all. Western Coast also East Coast north-of East Cape and southward of Castlepoint, moderate in other parts. •■-'■ Tides: Moderate on the E.ist Const between East Cape and Castlepoint, high elsewhere. Rain is to be expected in all parts of the country, and will probably be heavy westward of East Cape, Taupo, and W&.rganui. Warning signals for northerly gales are exhibited.at Cape Maria Van Diarnan and Tirit'iri, and for westerly fit Cape Campbell, Cape Foulwind, and Farewell Spit. ' ' ' ' Synopsis of the last 24 hours: There has been a slight increase in pressure northward of Tauranga and Manukau, but the pressure has decreased from thence south to TCsikoura and Westport. and lias risen a little in the South. Lowpressure from the west passed east of the meridian of South Cape about midnight, and one will also pass on the 10th. Evidences continue that low pressure exists in the Tasman Sea. travelling to S.E. at about-400 miles N.W. of Cape Farewell.
