Haggin ' lias 300 brood mares and ten stallions at his stud farm in Kentucky. Six , of the stallions are imported. _ j Among the horses which the American owner Mr Schrieber intends racing in Germany are several two-year- j olds by the New Zealand stallion j Fo-tilsh'ot, Schr.ieber owns Foulshot, j and landed a good stake at Tanforan j Park, San Francisco, recently through | the agency of one of that sire's progeny named Foul Play. A Victorian paper is responsible for saying that after the Sydney Cup meeting, Mr T. G. Muir intends taking j Parthian to England. That colt j will have several other equine companions, and an Australian trainer will probably go Home in charge of the team. The sum of £1620 was passed throuo-h the totalisator in 10/ tickets at the Thames J.C. Meeting on Mondtiy. Seal, who paid the good dividend of £52 8/ in the Maiden Plate at Woodville, is a full aged sister to Sea Serpent, by Piscatorious from Rumour. The public took all the money out of the machine, the mare's connections notfancying herchance and allowing her to go out unbacked. In the Woodville Cup Tortulla beat 16 opponents. She carried 9.4.
J. Prosser's team for the Wang ami i meeting comprises Tortulla, Advance, Titoki, BiaekDusl, and Leah. Advance i and Tortulla went on from the Woodi ville meeting, and the others joined • l.Vosser at \\ang-nnui on Monday.
