CENTRAL MISSION.
Last evening the Albert-street Hall was crowwed. The Rev. J. S. Smalley, PrJesident of the New Zealand Wesleyan Conference, paid the Mission a surprise visit, in order to deliver a message of love from his wife (who some time ago conducted a very successful mission here), and further congratulated the members on the good and solid work they were accomplishing for the Master, pointing" out that many people came to the Mission who would not go to the churches and vice versa Incidentally the rev. gentleman remarked that were he a younger man, he would probably be ledto throw in his lot with mission work of this kind. Mr Smalley closed with an earnest address urging his hearers to enlist as soldiers of 'Jtesuß Christ. Short adresses were also delivered by Evangelist Walker, Mr Field, and J. L. Pattullo, while Mrs Wood sang a solo.
