BAYFIELD SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
The first anniversary in connection with the Bayfield Wesleyan Sunday School was held yesterday. In the morning- the Rev. Dr. Morley preached from the words "And the child Samuel grew before the Lord." In. the afternoon the Ilex. 11. Bull specially addressed the children, taking Paul's words to Timothy,"Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." In the evening the Rev. D. J. Murray contrasted the last words of Solomon, "Vanity of vanity, all is vanity," with the last words of Paul, "I have fought a good light, etc." There were good congregations all day. The singing by the children (led by Mr S. 10. Hulbert) of old Sunday school hymns was very much appreciated by the older folk, recalling, as it did, recollections of their early days. Two little girls, Hazel Kainey and Lily Hulbert, sang as solos two of the best known hymns in a very pleasing manner. The children were assisted in their singing by an efficient orchestra led by Miss V. Cooke, Mr I\. H. llorsley presiding at the organ. The collection** for the day were about 25/ ahead of the gathering held a year ago. The services were all bright and inspiring, and will not soon be forgotten by those present.
