MINERS' UNION SPORTS.
The following are the results of the principal events of the Miners' Union sports:—looyds: Collins, i; w, Graham, 2; J. Kennerley, 3. Miners oyer 36, 100 yds: J. McGregor, 1; Tuohey, 2; Hyde, 3. Bandsman's Race, 100 yds: Robinson, 1; Layg, 2; Tonkin, 3. Miners over 50, 100 yds: J. McEnteer, 1; Wilson. 2; Paltridge, 3. Committeemen's Race, 100 yds: O'Keefe, 1; Hulburt, 2; Bull, 3. Married Women's, 75yds: Mrs Gollop, 1; Mrs RHey, 2; Mrs Thomas, 3, Young Ladies', 75yds: Miss Adamson, 1; Miss H. Henderson, 2; Miss A. Henderson, 3. The committee of the union supervised the events, whilst Mr W. McConnell acted as handicapper and Mr H. Henderson as starter. The- union held a social and dance in its hall In the evening, which were largely attended.
