PENSIONS FOR OFFICIALS
CAPETOWN, March 4
It transpires that on the eve of the war ultimatum the Volksraad secured pensions for President Kruger and all the other officials, expecting that Britain would recognise pensions.
Three British officers escaped from Pretoria during the confusion following the stoppage of the electric light.
