At the next meeting of the Devouport Borough Council, on Tuesday, Gth inst., Cr. Dunning will move: (1) "That the contractor for No. 0 contract be instructed to place sufficient of the suitable surplus earth from the drainage trenches on Borough reserve, Cheltenham Beach, for the purpose of enabling the Council to plant the said reserve with pohu.u__awa trees in June next." (2) "That contracts be let for breaking the surplus blue metal taken from the drainage trenches so that the main roads may be placed in good order in the autumn," A tea and concert to welcome the Rev.
