WAIHI RACING CLUB.
At the Waihi races on Saturday the 1 protest against the pony My Lord being over height was dismissed. A protest against Arena in the Forced Handicap for running inside a post was also dismissed. The Local Race , was won by Hamoa, and the Forced Handicap by Arena, Hamon second, Pickpocket third. ~ Maiden Handicap: Hamoa 1, Pickpocket ■ 2. Hurdle Handicap: La Belle 1, Libeller 2. Pony Handicap: My .Lord 1, Frear 2. A protest.was entered against the winner for being over the standard. Waihi Cup: Admiral Hawke 1, Hamoa 2. i Won hard held. i PAPAKURA RACING CLUB'S MEET--1 ING. The Papakura Racing Club held their • inaugural meeting on Saturday last on . Mrs Walters' racecourse. During the runi ning of the Hack Handicap Mahogany Jack, Pohutukawa, ami Waiomoa fell. . The horses escaped uninjured, but their rider:-, were all severely shaken, G. Pennell, li-e rider of Mahogany Jack, being picked up in an unconscious state. He was still insensible when' conveyed to town on an improvised stretcher. Mr F. Lawry, M.H.R., officiated as judge, and '. Mr A. Selby as starter.
