The third race of the season under the auspices of the Manukau Yacht Club was sailed for on Saturday last, and was won by Mr ,1. Williams' Kiwi, with Mr J. Sims' Industry second, and Mr G. Vasey's Petrel third. The prize was a valuable cruet presented by the President, Mr P. W. Court. The starters and their handicaps were as follows:—Belle, scratch; St. Anns, 7 mm; Mascotte, Bmin; Fedora 14min; Unknown, 15min; Industry, 17rniiT; Petrel 25min; Kiwi 30min; Lifebuoy 33min; and Quail, 35min. A light south-westerly wind prevailed, and the boats started with their time allowance. On the beat down the lirst time the Kiwi passed the two limit boats, and was never afterwards headed, winning' very comfortably from the Industry, which caught and passed the Petrel on the run home, the scratch boat being about a minute away in fourth place. Mr Jas. Sims acted as starter and judge.
