THE SPORTS.
During the afternoon sports -were held, which added greatly (o the entertainment of.those present. Resides the usual riding .led jumping competitions, there were bicycle races, Mr Nonien ably acting as liantlicapper and garter. These resulted as follows:—Two-mile Handicap: P. Smith. SOyds, 1: J. B. O'Sullvian, !<oyds, 2. Three-mile Handicap: R. li. Davis, 120 yds. 1; P. Smith. SOyds, 2: AY. Tierney, , r)iiyils behind ser, 3. Two-mile Handicap: C. Keeles. 230 yds, 1; P. Smith, 50yds, 2. Mr J. Roulston, jun., acted as sports secretary.
The last item was the high jump, which was watched with great interest, quite a number competing. It resulted: Mr J. R. Martin (Laddie), fift Gin. 1; Mr L. Taylor (Dandy Dick), 2.
