MOUNTED INFANTRY COMPANIES.
(By Teleprraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. To encourage mounted infantry the strength of companies is to be raised from 63 to 80, with an extra lieutenant and capitation increased from £2 10a to £3 10s.. Capitation will be paid for members an the Transvaal, but not for men who replace them. FEILDING, this day. Steps are being taken to form a mounted infantry corps in Feilding.
