THE OPERA HOUSE.
"A TRIP TO CHINATOWN."
The American comedy "A Trip to ChinatOAvn" was performed for the second time at the Opera House last evening. There was a full house, stalls and pit in particular being crowded to their fullest capacity. The piece went even better than on the opening night, and the whole production was an unqualified success. Mr Harry Conor again scored heavily in the role of Welland Strong, keeping his audience in roars of laughter. His duet with the Widow (Miss Allene Crater), entitled "Reuben and Cynthia," was one of the successes of the evening, and verse after verse 'had to be added to satisfy the demands of the audience. The local "hits" in the encore verses proved especially popular. Miss Crater was again very successful as the Widow, and able support was rendered by Messrs Hugh Ward, Pacey, Wallace Brownlow, Misses Merrill and Adams, and others. The dancing of the Misses McCoy and Mr Sam Marion, and Mr Tom Browne's remarkable whistling and imitations, were greatly appreciated. "A Trip to Chinatown" will be repeated until further notice.
