THAMES DRAINAGE BOARD
The ordinary meeting of the Thames Drainage Board was held this morning. Mr G. S. Kissling presided, and there were also present:—Messrs Gordon, McMillan, Park, Greenslade, and Clarke.
Reports,;— The manager of the big pump reported that the machinery had been working well, and the water had been reduced. 2. inches per week. 366 tons of coal had been received, 202 tons consumed, leaving 133 tons on hand.
Finance. —Acounts amounting to £228 19/6 Were; passed for payment. The balance-sheet showed receipts for the month to have been £1077 11/4, and the expenditure £104 14/6, leaving a balance of £972 16/10. The balance of assets' over liabilities was given as £3.36 17/9.
.Fire Brigade.—The usual contribution, of two guineas was voted to the Thames Fire Brigade.
Returning Officer. —Mr Lee was appointed returning officer for the election of a. new board next month.
Assessors. —Mr Kissling proposed that assessor's be appointed to assess the contributions of the different companies--**) the cost of. working the. pump, and that Messrs Curtis, Wilson, and Bayldon be appoiuted. This was agreed.
Annua] Meeting.—The anutsal meeting was fixed _br January.
