(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Messrs Hamilton Bros.' cheese factory is now in full swing. Close on 300 cows' milk is being, put through daily. Messrs Hamilton have been successful in obtaining the services of Mr McDonald, who is known to be an up-to-date man in cheese making. The lirst shipment of cheese was sent away a few days ago to a well-known firm in Auckland, who have taken the year's output. lam told it is of a high quality, uniform in quality and size. Miss M. G. Ramson, teacher of the Manukau Heads' School, gave the scholars and the public a free lantern exhibition in the central school on the evening of the Bth inst. The views were very pretty and varied. It took about two hours to show the scenes.
A few days ago Mr Crowe,.lnspector of Schools, paid his annual examination visit to our four schools. I am glad to say the examination was highly satisfactory, all pupils passing their standards but one or two. The: tone and discipline of the schools.were also highly commended.
