Gordon v. Parnell.—Parnell, batting .one man short, scored D 7. Brown (31) played a patient, sound game, although often beaten by the bowling. Thorpe (21), in attempting to cut a ball, was unlucky enough to pull it on to his wicket. Totman'(lo) and Gatland (10) were the only other double-ligure scorers for Parnell. Gordon, whose tickling and batting showed an all-round improvement, scored S3 for (j wickets (Cullerne 17, E. Keesing 11, C. Kissling 20, Ward 10). Ward was run out through a misunderstanding. Bowling for Gordon, Kissling took 3 wickets for 34, Coatea 4 for 28, Dalton 2 for 17. For Parnell Lynch took 2 wickets for 22, Robens 2 for 9, Gatland 1 for 22. V.M.C.A. (A) v.
