(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

PO.U.TO, this day

Respecting1 the disappearance of Captain Olesen, of the barque Agra, his boat, was discover-ed yesterday on Fitzgerald's Spit, about three miles from the ship. As he never returned Captain JWbertsori, of the 'lug- Sterling, made a search on the 4th ins't. all along- the shore, but without success. ' Another search was made next day. with the same result, and yesterday Detective Maddern was despatched from Auckland to make enquiries into '[■he matter. It Was generally believed that ■the captain.; must--'have been the victim of a .boating- accident, and the discovery of the boat yesterday certainly points to. that conclusion. Captain Olsen was.a native, of Porsgrund, Norway, and had been in command of the City of Agra, for over a year. He was -married,- but;h'ad no
