FRENCH TROOPS ATTACKED BY
CHINESE
THE CHINESE ROUTED,
SYDNEY, this day
Eastern news states that a small force of French troops when reconnoitring in the vicinity of Kwangchanwan was attacked by a band of armed Chinese. A lively engagement followed, and the Chinese were routed, leaving one. hundred men killed and wounded. The French had three men wounded.
