A very successful concert and dance was held in the Packington Hall o_■ Tuesday night, for the purpose of-get-1 ting funds to finish paying of. theZ debt on the hall. The committee, who had got together a very good pro-"-,* gramme of songs, recitations and"?' tableaux, had the pleasure of seeing I a, full hall, about £G 15/ being taken, I This sum will, I think, more than 1 clear the liall. .' A very enjoyable entertainment iva. I held in the Public Hall on.Wednesday i evening in aid of the library funds; A. :| varied and interesting programme lij was provided by the members of the,! Gtahuhii Musical and Dramatical Society. The first part consisted of musical items by Miss Bond, W_\ Day, .Mrs Everard, and Messrs Abscf* lum and Dormer. ■ These were follow-;/ ed by a number- of clever''magical? manipulations by Mi" Wynne Gray)! which afforded considerable amusement to the audience. After a few more songs by the same performer* the laughable farce "My Turn Next* " was staged. The various character! I were well sutained by the Missel Z Eraser, Graham and Hutchinson, &ioh Messrs Absolum, Brown and SelDy^fl A hearty vote of thanks to the performers was proposed by the Rev. Mr Norrie, and carried unanimously,';■: after Which the room was cleared Joe dancing. Mrs Somerfleld and __ss Middleton, with their usual -readinessand skill, provided the music, a_({ the duties of the M.C. were faithfully car* . I ried out by Mr W. Wilson. '
