ATHLETICS.

The annual spring carnival of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club will be held on the Domain Cricket Ground On Saturday afternoon. Additional interest is lent to the sports by the fact that the Australasian champions C. MeAffer, G. W .Smith, W. H. Madill and J. Te Paa will all be competitors. H. C. Thompson, champion amateur cyclist of Canterbury, and R. Brownlee (Dnnedin), the high jump and long jump champion of New Zealand, are also competitors. Madill will endeavour to break his previous Australasian record for throwing the 101b hammer. The following are the handicaps for the high jump and schoolboys bicycle handicap, in connection with the sports: — High Jump: A. Brownlee scratch, W. Madill 2in. C. C. Laurie Sin, 'G. W.
