The Testimony of Mrs. MARGARET HAWKES.

Accoucheuse, Guildford, near Sydney.

(GIVEN" TO OUR REPORTER.) Our reporter recently hiefc with Mrs. Margaret Hawkes,. accoucheuse and nurse, near Guildford Station (N.S.W.), who administers to the wants of the district. Mrs. Hawkes is well-known and greatly liked the whole' country rotfnd. She received ouireporter most affably and said, " I have Ref.ea.e_Sy Recommended and prescribed Clements Tonic for my patients, and it certainly was of great benefit in every case where I advised its use. I have invariably found," she continued, "Clements Tonic to be A ReSSafole Remedy, and particularly useful in restoring the strength of ladies after their confinements. The system then is much weakened, and to neglect to give a restorative is a serious mistake. Before I became acquainted with the benefits to be derived from the use of Clements Tonic I tried many of those socalled strengthening remedies and other rubbish the makers call " tonics," but I found they were of No Use at AH, and often distressed the patient to take them, and besides they greatly tax the stomach and injure the digestion. Clements Tonic, however, is not unpalatable nor distressing to the stomach, and is easily absorbed by The most Delicate System, and I never knew a patient who disliked it, or was caused anything but good results afterwards. I found, on the contrary, that in every case it gave my patiente A Splendid Appetite. The consequence was that they were up and about in a marvellously short space of time, and it kept up their strength during nursing." 11 Have you recommended Clements Tonic in many cases, Mrs. Hawkes 1" " Yes, I have, amongst Gthers, particularly nervous complaints. I have recommended it with great success in eases of neuralgia, and I can truthfully say I never had it fail."

" Have you any cases in your mind at present that you remember the effects ?" "Yes," said Mrs. Hawkes, with a smile, " I could tell you of scores Avhere Clements Tonic has been simply invaluable ;

"Mrs. C ,for inutance, was reduced to a skeleton. She was not strong enough to lift her own baby. Her food did her no good, and it seemed as»though she was never going to get over her confinement. She was lying in bed a mere shadow of what she ought fo have been. The doctor didn't seem able to do anything for her. However, I persuaded her to try Clements Tonic, and in three weeks she was completely well, and as strong as you or I. 1' Then there was Mrs. L . She couldn't get over her confinement. The fact waller blood was very poor, and things looked very serious for a time. I brought her some Clements Tonic, and in a very short time that remedy vitalized her blood, and restored strength to her system, and she made a splendid recovery. I can give you details of large numbers of somewhat similar cases, for I have been making use of Clements Tonic in my practice for many years, and shall continue to do so. I know there arc lots of cheaper ■ things recommended, but whenever I find my patients using them I never find they get any benefit, and I always have to insist on the use of Clements Tonic before they derive the benefit they need. lam only too happy to sign this, and give my full permission for its publication in any way, and trust it may be the means of bringing relief to some people who are in need of the physical benefits sure to be obtained by the use of Clements Tonic."
