CRICKET.

Th. cricket matches under the auspices of the Hamilton Cricket Association were continued on Saturday last. The game between Slade's team and the Tollers, which was not completed on the previous Saturday, was concluded. Slade's score stood at 100, while the Tollers had lost S wickets for 12 runs. The remaining two wickets only added two runs to the total, Slade's team thus winning by 8G runs. At the end of this match the Moanas met the Arawas. The former team scored 38, the largest contributor "being Gothorp with 11; and their opponents replied with 31, Dean being the only one fo make a stand with 12. The Moanas went In again, aud were all out for 48. The Association lias rules of its own regarding the time to be played, and the issue of this match is still in doubt; but it will probably be decided on the first innings, FUNERALS. Z It i_ not often that.we.have, two funerals' In one day in Hamilton, "but on Sunday last two old" pioneer settlers were borne to their last resting-place. The remains of Mr W, Livingstone, of Tuhlkaramea, who died suddenly, were interred in the Hamilton West Cemetery; while the late Mr Wm. Ede was bh'ried on the opposite side of the river. The Rev. J. M* Mitchell with a platform rocker.chair, silver-mounted pipi*, and » tobacco pouch, as a token of the friendlyfeelings they had towards him.
