MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Nominations for the Hamilton Mayoralty closed at noon on Monday. The aspirants for the position are Messrs Geo. Edgecumbe and R. W. Dyer. Thet former gentleman was a member of the Council for some years, and also occupied the position of acting-Mayor for a considerable period, and his chances of election are greatly favoured. The vote will be a purely party one, and the Ratepayers' and Burgesses Associations, which are supporting Air Dyer, are working hard to secure the return of their representative.
